Communication – Level Two
Dive deeper into YogaFit’s transformational language in Level Two to effectively communicate with your students. Using physical cues, mental imagery, and positive affirmations, you’ll learn to foster a safe, nurturing environment for all students, regardless of their experience or ability.
What you will learn:
- Twenty additional YogaFit poses needed to teach a more varied physical practice
- Physical execution, transitions, and modifications for each pose to ensure that it is safe, effective and empowering for every body type
- Sequencing for a Power YogaFit workout
- Principles of verbal adjustments, when and how to execute them properly
- Advanced breathing techniques (pranayama) and how to incorporate them into your classes
- Transformational language to create an atmosphere of trust, inclusivity, and self-exploration for all of your students
- Ways to bring your unique personality and style into your teaching
- An introduction to the eight limbs of classical yoga, focusing primarily on the yamas and niyamas, and how they can inform your practice and your teaching
Anatomy & Alignment One
This two-day interactive module explores the musculoskeletal anatomy and biomechanics you need to know in order to safely and effectively teach hatha yoga classes. You may take this workshop at any time that fits with your schedule.
What you will learn:
- YogaFit’s Seven Principles of Alignment (SPA) in depth
- To identify and locate bones, muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons, understand their functions in the body, and learn how they move the body into and out of yoga poses
- How movement occurs and how it is constrained
- How to apply principles of functional anatomy to specific asana and to transitions between poses
- The use of neurological reflexes to make poses safer and more efficient
- Anatomy of breathing
- To understand alignment principles (based on functional anatomy) of specific pose categories
- How to add anatomical language to your cuing so that your students can understand it as they practice with you
- To use worksheets to test your knowledge and retention of the information

Introspection – Level Three
Directing the focus more inward, Level Three emphasizes the modern application of the philosophical and metaphysical aspects of yoga, paying particular attention to the seven chakras and how they foster a deeper sense of self-awareness. You will learn how to use your intuition as well as your anatomical knowledge to give your students effective hands-on assists.
What you will learn:
- Twenty additional YogaFit poses, including the Moon Salutation
- Physical execution, transitions, and modifications for each pose to ensure that it is safe, effective, and empowering for every body type
- How to sequence your YogaFit class
- Principles of hands‐on adjustments, when and how to execute them properly
- The anatomy and physiology of breath, including use of bandhas (locks)
- Meditation techniques and the health benefits of a consistent meditation practice
- The effects of yoga on the brain, the central nervous system, and the emotions
- The seven chakras and the four paths of yoga
- The importance of a personal yoga practice and how to create one that makes sense
